Gopal Chowdhury born in Kolkata has done Diploma in Visual Arts in painting from Academy od Fine Arts, Kolkata and received scholarship from Kanoria Centre for Arts, Ahmedabad. He has a number of solo and group exhibition to his credit.
Gopal has uses Acrylic & oil colours, and his works are very different as each one his worked out though extemely individual and very direct confrontation with the material. He creats a third dimension in his painting on two dimension canvases. His form seems to emerge out of and blend with backdrop of a stone wall giving his canvases a mystic quality. His works depict an imaginary transient world where reality changes to visual images.
