Terracotta, terra cotta or terra-cotta a type of earthenware, is a clay-based unglazed or glazed ceramic, where the fired body is porous. Terracotta is the term normally used for sculpture made in earthenware, and also for various utilitarian uses including vessels (notably flower pots), water and waste water pipes, roofing tiles, bricks, and surface embellishment in building construction.

Madhubani paintings, as a separate school of art, claim origin from Ramayana days. King Janaka of Mithila desired that the kingdom should celebrate his daughter Goddess Sita’s wedding with colorful paintings. The womenfolk of the land created the art which came to be called Mithila paintings.
She had the dreams of painting. She took it as hobby. But Shipra Roy never thought that her profile will up graded in ArtOfColour. She did her high school diploma in Commerce, from Bally Bangshishu Balika Vidyalaya from Howrah. She was a school topper in Fine Arts.

It has been a privilege for us to have the confirmation from eminent artists like Mr. Wasim Kapoor, Mr. Debabrata Chakrabarty and eminent rabindra sangeet signer Dr. Sreekumar Chatterjee to inaugurate the exhibition.
The Birla Academy of Art & Culture was established in 1967 with the principal objective of fostering the growth of art and culture with emphasis on visual and performing arts. In this time, the Academy has established itself as a center of cultural, artistic and educational activities.
The academy was formally established in 1933 by Lady Ranu Mukherjee. It was initially located in a room loaned by the Indian Museum, and the annual exhibitions used to take place in the adjoining verandah.
